1. Partnerships

Many local businesses are gearing up to host a Mother’s Day event or promo. Attaching your name to the event by donating a gift card, flowers for the table, or a prize can be a great way for you to get local exposure outside of your customer base.

Working with any local establishment like schools, mom groups, restaurants, or other services businesses can help you reach local customers.

2. Appreciation

You don’t necessarily have to give away a prize or hold a huge event; just showing appreciation with a discount can make moms (or any customer) feel valued on that special day. This works especially well if you have an email list of loyal customers you can reach out to. It also can work as an ad to draw in new customers.

3. Promos

Similar to appreciation, offering something for Mother’s Day is a great way to get people to book your services. Unlike appreciation however, you can target both the recipient and the giver. You can also upsell recurring services with a discount. Promos like “Make Mom happy year round” can help you score new recurring customers.

4. Contests

Mother’s Day contests often work very well. Hosting a giveaway is a fairly standard way to get people to opt in and grow an email list. If you want to turbo charge a giveaway, instead of asking people to sign up for a chance to win a prize, ask people to nominate and tag 2-3 deserving recipients. This will get triple the eyes on your contest and again will allow you to target more than just mothers.

5. Giving

Much like a contest where you award a nominated and deserving mom to receive your services, simply giving your services away to a well-deserved person will not only net you appreciation and potential business in that Mom’s circle, but can also get your business great PR. Look for opportunities that present themselves that are close to home.

6. Gift certificates

This is the perfect time to advertise your gift certificates. Create an email blast specifically for Mother’s Day. Give gift certificates away in contests (which will encourages others to purchase). And create emails that allow moms to add certificates to a wish list or forward to people who may want to purchase for them. For more tips on selling gift certificates, check out this blog post.

7. Gift Guide

Create a gift guide and distribute it on social media. Feature your services and add other local business’ services so that you can cross promote and use their distribution networks.

8. Mother’s Day Content

Similar to gift guides, start creating your Mother’s Day content now. Use all content created to drive visitors to a single landing page that advertises your giveaways or specials for the day. Use Pinterest, email lists, Facebook, hashtags and Instagram to reach moms that could use your services.
